What Is Microsoft Learning Doing About This Problem?
At the time of writing, Microsoft Learning had not officially admitted to a problem with the simulation exams; however, they've pushed back the release of the next round of simulation questions that were slated for the 70-293 and 70-294 certification exams.
I've been able to communicate some of these issues to people at Microsoft Learning and was assured that the issues were under investigation. A few days later, a VUE test administrator told me he saw updated exam data packages for the 70-290 and 70-291 simulation exams.
The bad news is that experienced system administrators are still failing these exams. I recently spoke with two system administrators (each with more than four years of experience managing Windows networks) who failed the simulation exams by significant margins. Both administrators had studied extensively before the exam. Both administrators also said that they were confident in over 90% of their answers and that the simulation questions didn't present a challenge.
