Processor Reliability
Processors used in computers, including network servers, are very reliable devices. If a processor in a network server does fail, however, the network server is totally nonoperational. Multiple processors in a network server increases the overall processing power of the network server, and, in most cases, the failure of one processor in a multiple-processor network server does not cause the total failure of the network server. Some network server hardware vendors provide a pre-failure warranty on the processors in their servers.
