Preparation Hints
As is the case with any certification exam, the key to passing the exam is to have a thorough understanding of the material presented on the exam. While reading study guides and taking practice tests may prove to be helpful, there are two main things that candidates should consider doing in order to prepare for this exam.
The first thing that you should do is to review the exam objectives (which are listed later in this profile). As you do, make sure that you understand each objective and that you know how to perform any related tasks in Microsoft Word 2010.
The other thing that you should do prior to taking this exam is to take Exam 77-881: Word 2010. Technically, exam 77-881 is not a prerequisite to exam 77-887. Even so, passing exam 77-881 prior to taking this exam could prove to be invaluable. For starters, taking exam 77-881 first will help you to become familiar with the basic exam format, but with less difficult material.
More importantly, when you take exam 77-887, Microsoft assumes that you are already a Word 2010 expert. As such, you will be expected to be familiar with lower level concepts (such as those covered by exam 77-881) even though those concepts are not explicitly listed among the objectives for this exam.
