Trouble Spots
The most difficult aspect of this exam seems to be the scope of the material covered. Most organizations only use a subset of SharePoint’s features, and it is easy to become comfortable with the features that you use and to forget about other, less familiar features. The key to passing this exam is to make sure that you take the time to learn about all of the items listed on the exam objectives, even if they seem obscure or unimportant.
Another bit of advice that I would give you is to make sure that you have a good working knowledge of the Active Directory, IIS, and SQL Server. SharePoint depends on all of these things, and some of the exam questions assume that you have basic knowledge in these areas.
Finally, Microsoft seems to downplay the subject of upgrading and deploying SharePoint, but make sure that you spend at least some time studying the various deployment issues. Specifically, you should make sure that you are comfortable performing a Microsoft Content Management Server Assessment, and you should make sure that you know how to manage the Business Intelligence Tools and how to configure the shared services.
