As strange as it may sound, passing exam 70-648 earns candidates two different certifications including:
- Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration
- Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration
The exam also counts as credit toward achieving the MCITP: Server Administrator certification. To earn this certification, you will also be required to pass Exam 70-646 Pro: Windows Server 2008, Server Administrator.
You can also use exam 70-648 toward an MCITP Enterprise Administrator certification. To earn this certification you will need to pass Exam 70-648 plus the following additional exams:
- 70-643 TS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure, Configuring
- 70-647 Pro: Windows Server 2008, Enterprise Administrator
Additionally, you must pass one of the following three exams:
- 70-620 TS: Configuring Microsoft Windows Vista Client
- 70-624 TS: Deploying and Maintaining Windows Vista Client and 2007 Microsoft Office System Desktops
