The Cisco Career Certification program offers both general and job role-specific credentials for prospective certification candidates.
You will find that the three main certification tracks (Associate, Professional, and Expert) build upon each other in a linear fashion. For example, you need to attain your associate-level credential before you advance to the professional level, and so forth.
On the other hand, the Specialist track is focused toward people who want to validate their skills in a highly specific job role, such as data center network infrastructure design or Cisco Express Foundation sales.
