Actions & Ideas
- Evaluate how you have looked for work in the past. How much actual time, per day, did you spend after preparing your résumé and cover letter? If your job title is professional job seeker, would you consider yourself a high achiever?
- If you have never walked into a company unannounced, visit at least 30 companies tomorrow. It's not painful. Start the process of tracking and corresponding with the contacts you make at those companies using the Networking and Opportunity Tracker included on the CD-ROM accompanying this book.
- As you drive around in the next day or so, make note of office building locations and professional complexes. These are areas ripe with undiscovered opportunity.
- Create a simple map and plan to visit these office buildings, and then immediately act on the plan.
